Uh... Vicky could’ve told Selene the truth. Was violence really necessary? ?
Part 3 will answer that. But to make it easier, Vicky tried to track down Selene and attempted to contact her regarding the threat he's facing and her key role in it. All to no avail.
And while handling that threat, he also needed to destroy the criminal group without getting everything traced back to him, so he baited her with Michael and all the mind games just to get her do the job.
Anything else you're unclear about?
That’s really smart, getting Selene to kill all the criminals for him!
Here comes part 3, which is divided into part 3A & 3B, with 3B as the conclusion of this story.
Part 3A takes place after part 1, in which Selene's confusion over Vicky's relationship with still-living & breathing Michael. And furthermore, Detective Sebastian's coming in too. All of exposition from part 2 was delivered by both Michael & Vicky to Selene with Detective Sebastian already figured that out on his own, as Vicky got most of his intel from him. The dead "Michael" was actually a clone, created by the same threat plaguing this story. Furthermore, Vicky even gave a box containing files & a laptop containing everything about him, for all 3 of them to read through in their own time. Sort of putting all cards on the table, nuturing trust and all before the coming storm.
The actual threat was there's a group of humanity consisting of powerful people & corporation who believe that Vampires & Lycans are something akin to the "Second Coming". This group, known as the Apostles, was the brains behind Antigen, so however marginal, it's also responsible for Marius and his Lycan packs. The Apostles gained everything from Antigen and they conducted their own experimentations involving mutation of the strain from both Vampires and Lycans to create another version of Corvinus strain, except it's targetted specifically to destroy both races and bring about humanity's "evolution". And as a back up in case of failures, they created clones of both Michael & Selene as they both are the carriers of original Corvinus strain, (therefore the most potent) serving as a "death squad" to exterminate both races. Antigen's fall just reinforced their already "power-in-secrecy" conditions, and Marius' connection with criminal underworld are one of their backbones without him even realizing it at all that he's walking dead meat at all.
The Apostles are also well-connected with various underworld network (and even the freaking CIA) and also behind most, if not all, heinous crimes such as human trafficking, assasination, extortion, narcotics, etc. This is how they're able to get endless supply of living, human subjects. And Vicky was one of those subjects from the very first experimentation, created by Antigen with the intention of artificially creating an army of Hybrids but instead becoming something else entirely than what they predicted and he was the only survivor. His creation essentially gave another idea for the Apostles to more experimentations and the clones' creation. His role as "the Executor" was very useful for both the Apostles' & CIA's demands, be it maintaining the secrecy, and other heinous things. In short, humanity's silence is just another ticking time bomb (or rather biological) and it's gonna tip the worldly balance scale massively. It's something Vicky realized a little too late, thanks to Antigen's fall too.
This is why Vicky sought out both Selene and Michael, as he believes that their genetic materials hold the key to counteract this biological outbreak and even "disable" the clones' generation. Michael's medical experties, Selene's guns-ablazing ruthlessness, Vicky's spycraft/black ops experience and Detective Sebastian's intel are the tools to eliminate this threat, if not crippling it momentarily. And despite the initial hostility, including Selene's getting physically restrained in armbar & headlock by Vicky, the situation's resolved satisfactorily on all 4 characters now.
After the long discussion, all three of them read through the box Vicky gave them while he spent his time alone training rigorously. While doing so, Michael & Selene catch up with whatever's happened, including their daughter, with Detective Sebastian head off to resume his duty so as to avoid any speculations from his superiors back at the police department and prefering to be on-the-need-to-know-basis. Even when finished, Vicky's still nowhere to be around them. Michael's assured Selene that training himself is what's he's been doing most of the day if not getting out there fighting the Apostles or infiltrate/fake running criminal group. Living for some time with him has Michael figuring out that somewhere in Vicky's mind, it's regret and hatred towards Antigen, Marius and even the CIA, as they're what made Vicky to be whatever he is today, a fact that he both resented, yet respected all too well to date. Vicky's daily training regiment not only to keep his mental & physical performance at his peak, it also distracts him from the fact that he's at fault for whatever the shitstorm mentioned earlier.
Even Selene felt the same pity, something that opens up a new point of view that it's not just about her immortal life, the coven, the Vampire-Lycan war, etc. A new lesson embedded in her and admittedly, she's got knocked up some sense into her to realize that fact. Now, that newfound responsibility fuels her determination to better use her own immortal life and her influence as the current Vampire Elder to lead her coven towards better, more selfless future.
Feedback, please?
Finally got a chance to come back to the forum!
?? A stunning read. Creating a new type of Corvinus strain to wipe out both species is such an interesting idea! Yes, only Selene, Michael, and Eve’s blood can help fight Corvinus virus 2.0.
