About being a Corvinus-Strain Hybrid[]
"Given that Alexia had consumed some of Selene's blood, there is a possibility she may have unknowingly become a Vampire-Corvinus Strain Hybrid. However, this was never confirmed, as she was killed before she could demonstrate any abilities of such a Hybrid."
It should be noted that she probably did know that she would become one, because she intentionally licked her blade to consume Selene's blood and gain access to her memories—something only an Elder or Corvinus-Strain Hybrid can do (such as Selene, David, and later, Semira). However, it's been a bit since I've seen Blood Wars. I perhaps recall a moment where the council also drinks Amelia's blood and see her memories (confirming David's heritage), but none of them are elders nor Corvinus-Strain Hybrids. So perhaps the writers thought that any vampire had the power of reading blood memories, not just Elders or Corvinus-Strain Hybrids. Either way, if the former is true, Alexia both knew and demonstrated Corvinus-Strain abilities, am I correct in this? Vimereth (talk) 07:03, January 16, 2017 (UTC)
- I always thought that just about anyone could read blood memories. Even Michael experienced blood memories when he was turning into a lycan. Only the Elders knew how to order their thoughts to pass on a coherent memory of their reign through blood memories. —yellowantphil (talk) 07:15, January 16, 2017 (UTC)
- Possible, I reckon. But it doesn't seem like Selene, or any other vampire demonstrated the ability before. I guess it's possible that vampires, and even lycans (although I thought this was a side effect of being turned) might possess the ability. Of course, Elders can organise their memories, but I also thought that they were the only ones who could read the memories. As far as I can recall, I've only ever seen Elders or Corvinus-Strain Hybrids reading Blood Memories. I thought Selene had inherited it from Alexander (who gave it to his sons via genetics, who in turn gave it to Viktor and Amelia, the first Elders). But it's probable that it's never directly stated who has this ability, and therefore most vampires and lycans may have the ability. I just missed it. I guess that's why synthetic blood is important. Who wants to recall another's memories every time you want to have a drink? Vimereth (talk) 08:02, January 16, 2017 (UTC)
